My 1-month old domain got its pagerank of PR3, and I am here to tell you my secret and what I did to achieve this.

PageRank, when this goes up for our blog, it makes us a happy blogger. Pagerank matters for us because its one of the factor that puts us higher up on the SERPs and brings more traffic to us. Many are seeking for ways how they can increase their pageranks but are not patient enough and not informed enough and they end up failing at their goal.

If you are a fan of pagerank checking sites, and you always checks your sites pagerank most of the time, I’m sure you already know about the recent and frequent panda update made by Google which affected many sites rankings. Honestly, I have no ideas on google algorithms, and I am too lazy to research for it, as per I know that I will just end up finding nothing.

My domain, www.askhideki.com, is a domain I bought last July, to replace my previous domain name which was on CoCC. CoCC was deindexed by google and is banned due to the alleged massive amount of spam that somehow outranks other legit and quality sites. It affected me to the point that my site hits dropped, as per that blog of mine depends on traffic from search engines, and so I ended up buying a new domain name for my site.

www.searchenginegenie.com/tools/DomainAgeChecker.php

I created that domain last last month, July 11, 2011. I was just too lazy to post about this last month. To prove you the time accuracy I had been telling you, here is a Screenshot of my reply on a topic at SEO PH that talks about the sudden PR Update dated last August 5, 2011.

"my PR0 sites became PR1. My other PR0 site became PR3 even if it was just a 1-month old domain. :D"

See? I am not joking here. Though I am not bragging too. I admit it that I am just a newbie at this field and I know that I still have so much more to learn. What I want now, is just to share you what I did, or as others says it, my secret to getting a PR3 in just one month.

I did no off-page SEO, no backlinks, etc. — I am too lazy. Yes, and I was so lazy enough that I dont give time commenting on other’s blogs just to gain some juices from them through that free backlink method like that. But still, my pagerank increased from zero to 3. This made me concludes that creating backlinks is not that important anymore. I am not really sure about it though. When I had checked out my PR again in checkpagerank.net it says that my domain doesn’t have enough back links and may lose its rank after the next google update, there came the two slight panda update and my PR retains its value. I still made a links page for my site and started on building my blogroll with other bloggers, my only purpose to that is to gain friends and expand my network.

I did not spill my juice. — yeah, I was too selfish that I wouldn’t want to link to other pages. This might be something that helped it. I just keep on minimizing myself on making out-bound links from my posts/pages. I just made the anchors when its for my sites link or benefit, and if it is for other, I just write in my post the url without using the anchor html.

I focused on on-page SEO without me knowing it. — I didnt know that I was doing some on-page SEO until I had read some good articles about it. I can say that on-page SEO did the wonder for me as per I didn’t established an off-page SEO. You dont know what on-page SEO is? You might already been doing it too. heheh :D

I always try to make an update to my blog frequently. – Though it is really tiresome updating your blog, I always find time to make a post for update on that blog, of course with relation to my niche or subject topics. I sometimes end-up making a scheduled post for each and every day just for google and bots to see that I am updating always so they can ping me easily.

I post content for people, not for bots. — through my years on being the guy under the pseudonym Hideki, I already made a decent amount of loyal readers and subscribers for the topics I write and it still continues to grow. That maybe for the reason that they always end up being helped by my posts, through their own will and actions.

I keep things simple. — I dont compilcate things. (how am I going to explain this? whew!) I just write or re-write stuffs, post it, answer readers queries and then be it. I also make it to the point that people can easily interact with my posts. I make it normal just like talking to them. I don’t know, that is just me.

I have a self-made, personalized mobile template for my blog. — I am aware that a big percentage of my blog readers are using their mobile phones for browsing the web. I made a mobile them for it and customized it with my own liking focusing more for content readability, not much on design. I also read an alleged claim that having a mobile version of your blog helps in ranking for SERPs.

To tell you this, my previous domain was on PR2 (that with CoCC), it might have been carried over to my recent domain, and thanks to 301 redirect. This post might seem not helping you at this moment. hehe. :D

I cannot really say or guarantee that those will bring you charm for your blog, just like what had happened to me. I just wanted to share you this, and sorry for making you expect something like a big hit on a Pagerank-rocket technique. :P Give me time and I’m going to share an in-depth stuffs related to this, I just wanted to experience it beforehand before I blog about it. hehe. let’s see what would happen on the next google update.
